08:00AM Our tour guide and PRIVATE vehicle will pick you up at hotel in in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
In the morning, we will start our journey with a boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake in Kampong Phluk Village. This is the largest permanent fresh-water lake in South East Asia and flows into Tonle Sap River, joining the Mekong in Phnom Penh.
Upon arrival, you will be impressed by the “floating village” on the lake. Situated on the edge of Tonle Sap Lake, Kampong Phluk stands out with its tall houses built on wooden stilts. The local people's creativity will amaze you - the houses are as tall as 10 meters, adapting to the changing water levels.
Notably, the village also features essential facilities such as a school, hospital, and police station, all ingeniously constructed to float on the water. It is same as a big village floating on the lake, and the "village" move from place to place following water levels and current.
Life in these villages is not overly modern but rather simple and rustic. However, this will allow you to experience many interesting and real aspects of local life.
After a fantastic morning, we will return to the hotel.
Lunch not included.
See you again on the next journey!
